About The Project
Obol Network builds distributed validator technology. Instead of one machine running an Ethereum validator, several operators share the work, so a single hardware failure or mistake does not take the validator offline or get it penalised. The OBOL token coordinates the network and its governance.
An earlier version of this page described the wrong network and an ongoing airdrop. The distribution happened in 2025 and is complete.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Rewarding the people who secure Ethereum
Rather than chase traders, Obol aimed its airdrop at stakers. The Block reported that the Obol Collective would send tokens to thousands of Ethereum solo stakers and Rocket Pool node operators. Together with Obol Techne Credential holders, they received 7.5% of total OBOL supply.
Claim day and the listing
Per the project's token generation FAQ, claims opened on 7 May 2025 at 11:00 UTC at claim.obol.org. Trading began the same day on exchanges including Binance, Bybit, Bitget, Gate.io and MEXC, with about 19% of supply circulating at launch. Bitget also ran a Launchpool for the token.
The unclaimed share
The documentation describes how tokens not claimed within the window are handled under proposal OIP-2, and a community forum thread discusses extending the claim period for some participants. The sources we reviewed do not give the final status of unclaimed tokens, so we do not state one.
Is there another round?
Every source we found is dated 2025. None mentions a 2026 airdrop.

If you believe you were eligible and never claimed, read the current notes at docs.obol.org and the community forum before doing anything, since claim rules may have changed since 2025. Be sceptical of anyone offering to recover unclaimed OBOL for a fee, and use only addresses published on obol.org. Distributed validator staking has its own risks, including slashing if too many operators misbehave, so read the technical documentation before moving staked ETH.
The Obol case is useful as a model of how a well-run airdrop looks: the eligible groups were defined in advance, there was a documented claim date and address, and the terms for unclaimed tokens were set by governance instead of decided privately. When you assess any airdrop, those are the signs to look for, and their absence is a warning sign.
