The names cause trouble. A token called PIPE does exist on Base, according to one tracker, but that page gives no project details and nothing links it to PiperX. Pipe Network, a separate Solana-based content delivery network, has its own PIPE token and a CoinList sale notice that said the sale was the only token sale and that there would be no airdrops or launchpad campaigns on other platforms at that time.

That notice predates the present, so it may be outdated, but it is a good reason to treat any "PIPE airdrop" with suspicion.

PiperX's own programme is early-stage. Joining an "OG" list through tasks and referrals is a common pre-launch tactic that gives the team an audience and a record of early supporters. No token or conversion rate is confirmed, and the listing is a third-party aggregator.

What is distinctive here is the chain. Story Protocol aims to register and license intellectual property on-chain, and a DEX on it is a small part of that ecosystem. A new DEX on a young chain starts with thin liquidity, so prices on small trades can be poor. The question for a user is whether swaps there are competitive, not whether a token will arrive.

Because the OG programme is referral-driven, it is also a prime target for imitation. Fake OG sign-up pages harvest wallet addresses and social handles.
