Why This Airdrop Matters
The first airdrop targeted Gods Unchained players. It was set to share 100,000 IMX among users who traded or held cards on Immutable X, and 7,918 eligible users were to receive 12.63 IMX each. A second round of 400,000 IMX was planned using a snapshot and a points system for holdings and trading. One Gods Unchained post warned that no IMX had been minted at that stage, so sources conflict on timing.
The Main Quest launched alongside Guild of Guardians. Immutable called it the largest web3 gaming rewards programme, and said with the Digital Worlds Foundation that the rewards were already worth $50 million. Users created an Immutable Passport wallet or connected a wallet to the Immutable zkEVM chain, then collected gems by finishing tasks and quests. Aggregators describe daily logins, holding or staking IMX and completing quests as the way to earn gems.
These are two different programmes years apart. The first rewarded players of one card game; the second rewarded activity across several games on a new chain.
Aggregator pages say the airdrop is closed, and I found no official page showing a programme still open.
Gaming platforms often change their reward systems as they grow. The move from a one-off airdrop to a long-running gems programme shows a shift from paying for past behaviour to paying for continued activity. For participants, the second model asks for more time and carries more risk that rules or rewards change before the programme ends.
