About The Project
Swell Network is a liquid staking and restaking project, whose Voyage programme awarded "Pearls" that could later be exchanged for SWELL. ForkLog described it in an airdrop guide, and a CoinAcademy guide lists the main ways to earn them: holding swETH, holding rswETH, referring users and, optionally, using other DeFi protocols.
Earlier text on this page was a template, and the sources do not support the April 2024 date it implied.
Why This Airdrop Matters
The Voyage campaign received 850 million SWELL, 8.5% of the 10 billion supply, according to The Defiant. The Defiant reports a snapshot on 30 July, and sources conflict on snapshot dates. A June 2024 report said the Voyage distribution would mainly use a linear release, with amounts depending on how many Pearls a holder had.
"Wavedrops" followed: the first distributed 2% of supply on 8 October 2024 and later ones 1% each. Eligible users had six months to claim, after which unclaimed tokens returned to the DAO, and Wavedrop claims had a separate 30-day window. Holders could claim to a wallet, restake for rSWELL, or split the claim, with the restake share defaulting to 50%.
That default is a design choice with consequences: it nudges people toward staking, which locks tokens and supports the network, but it also means someone who clicked through quickly may have staked half their allocation without meaning to.
A programme built on holding swETH and rswETH rewarded capital parked in the project's products. Those products carry smart-contract and, for restaking, slashing risk, which Pearls do not compensate.
For a quick summary of how to treat a multi-stage programme like this one: write down each stage's dates when it is announced, set reminders for the claim deadlines and check each claim page against the official announcement. Programmes with a main drop plus later rounds produce confusion about which round a page refers to, and scammers use that confusion. Keeping your own notes is the simplest defence.
Participation Guide
The Voyage claim windows have closed. If you claimed, check Swell's documentation for staking and DAO details. If you see a page advertising a new Wavedrop, confirm it on the official channels, because each had its own dates and the DAO used them to wind down unclaimed amounts. Use a block explorer to confirm the SWELL contract.
