About The Project
Ether.fi is a liquid restaking protocol: you deposit ETH and receive eETH or weETH, tokens that earn staking and restaking rewards. Its airdrop is covered by The Defiant and The Block.
Earlier text on this page described the airdrop as open. Both seasons are closed.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Season 1 released 6% of the total ETHFI supply, covering activity up to 15 March 2024. Starting 18 March, Season 1 stakers had 90 days to claim at claim.ether.fi, and unclaimed Season 1 rewards were returned to the treasury to be used in Season 2. The team adjusted the allocation after community complaints, as The Block reported.
Season 2 added 5% of the remaining supply, covering activity from 15 March onward, and any tokens unclaimed from the first drop were added to its allocation. Eligibility included holding eETH or weETH and owning an ether.fan NFT. A sybil-check step applied to the extra rewards: users had to prove that their wallets did not belong to a sybil cluster or they would lose eligibility. The claim start was delayed to 6 July 2024.
One listing now says the airdrop is closed, and we found no current claim information.
Two features stand out. First, unclaimed tokens rolled into the next season, which rewarded people who did claim and shows the cost of missing a window. Second, the sybil check was applied only to the extra rewards, so a recipient could keep the base allocation but lose the bonus if their wallets looked related.
Liquid restaking tokens carry a risk that the airdrop does not remove. eETH and weETH depend on smart contracts and on the restaking layer's slashing rules, and their prices can drift from ETH during stress.
Participation Guide
Both seasons are over. If you hold ETHFI, check Ether.fi's official channels for the current staking and governance terms. If you hold eETH or weETH, read how redemption works and what slashing risk applies. Do not trust claim pages found outside the official site, and ignore offers to "rescue" unclaimed Season 1 tokens, which went to the treasury.
