About The Project
Kelp DAO is a liquid restaking protocol, and KERNEL is the token of the Kernel ecosystem built around it. Its airdrop is described by MPost and in Airdrops.io coverage.
Earlier text on this page was generic.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Season 1 gave 10% of the 1 billion supply, with a snapshot on 31 December 2024. Wallets with at least 150 Kernel Points, also called Kelp Grand Miles, during Season 1, which corresponds to restaking about 0.04 ETH or roughly $100, qualified for a minimum reward of 100 KERNEL per wallet. Wallets below the threshold had their points carried forward to Season 2. One Kernel Point equals one Grand Kelp Mile.
To filter fake accounts, Kernel DAO partnered with human.tech by Holonym for sybil analysis. Users checked eligibility by connecting the wallet they used in Season 1 and signing a message for verification. The eligibility checker opened in late March 2025, with the token generation event expected in early April 2025.
The tokenomics set 20% of tokens for airdrops across three seasons. Season 2 ran from 1 January to 30 April 2025, and users who restaked before 15 January received a 15% loyalty bonus. A later Binance Megadrop allocated 40 million KERNEL, 4% of supply, to Megadrop participants.
A minimum of 100 KERNEL for small wallets is a floor that protects small users, and the carry-over of points makes it hard to lose everything by missing the threshold once.
Because the sources are mostly secondary and date from the 2025 launch, check Kelp's official announcements and the checker for current eligibility and claim status.
Points in restaking programmes are usually estimates shown on a dashboard, not a legal entitlement, and the final conversion into tokens is set by the team. That is why two users with similar balances can end up with different rewards once multipliers, partner boosts and caps are applied.
Anyone considering a similar programme should read how points convert, whether withdrawals are delayed, and which external protocols the deposit is exposed to, since each of those adds risk that the headline reward does not reflect.
Participation Guide
If you were eligible, check the official checker and claim only through it. Never share a seed phrase, and note that signing a verification message is different from approving a token spend, so read what you sign. Liquid restaking tokens carry smart-contract and slashing risk, so read the risk disclosures before holding them. Ignore any "Season 3" page that is not on the project's verified channels.
