About The Project
Fuel is an execution layer for Ethereum that aims for fast, low-cost transactions through a parallel design. Its Genesis Drop is described by The Defiant.
Earlier text on this page described an ongoing points scheme. The Genesis Drop was a single, dated claim.
Why This Airdrop Matters
About 1 billion FUEL went to more than 200,000 wallets across several categories, including phase 1 pre-depositors, Fuel bridge users and NFT holders. One report says claims were open from 19 December 2024 until 19 January 2025.
The claim process, per Fuel's documentation, was unusual. You checked eligibility by connecting GitHub accounts, Fuel wallets and Ethereum wallets, then joined a claim queue. Once in the queue you had exactly ten minutes to claim from each eligible account, or you had to re-queue. The queue was a way of managing demand and bots, and it meant claimants needed to be ready when their turn came.
After claiming, the documentation directed holders to Fuel Ignition to stake their tokens. A Fuel Points programme was described as a later phase, and its status is separate from the Genesis Drop.
Sources conflict on some details, and we did not verify whether any unclaimed allocations remain claimable. The official claim page named in our results is app.fuel.network/earn-points/drop.
Using GitHub accounts for eligibility rewarded developers and is a useful signal of a project that wants builders. It also required users to link personal developer identities to wallets, which carries privacy implications.
Queues like Fuel's are also a lesson in security. A timed claim in which you must act within ten minutes pushes people to hurry, and hurry is what phishing sites exploit. Real claim flows tell you in advance which pages you will use and never ask for your seed phrase. If a page tries to rush you, close it and start again from the official documentation.
The same applies to any airdrop, because attackers copy the stressful parts of a real process to make you skip your checks.
Participation Guide
If you took part, check the official claim page for any remaining claims and the staking options, and be careful with sites that mimic the queue interface, since the timed claim is an easy thing to copy. Do not give GitHub permissions beyond what the official page requests. Verify the FUEL contract on a block explorer before trading.
