About The Project

Scroll is a zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum that went live in October 2023. Its token, SCR, was distributed through an airdrop based on "Marks", points earned through on-chain activity in a loyalty programme called Scroll Sessions.

Earlier versions of this page described the programme as ongoing. It has finished.

Why This Airdrop Matters

The sources give two different timelines. CoinJar says more than 570,000 wallets qualified and that the airdrop distributed 7% of the SCR supply, with a snapshot on 19 October 2024 and claims opening on 22 October 2024 for a 90-day period. A KuCoin guide instead gives a snapshot on 15 July 2024, an announcement on 1 August and a claim window from 15 August to 15 September 2024, with unclaimed tokens redistributed afterwards. We cannot reconcile the two without the official announcement, so check scroll.io for the authoritative dates.

What Marks rewarded is clearer. According to QuickNode, Session Zero awarded Marks for bridging ETH or wstETH to Scroll and keeping them there, and early adopters active since the October 2023 mainnet launch were to receive retroactive rewards. CoinJar adds extra allocations for holders of top-level ENS names, Gitcoin donors and users of smart contract wallets.

Rewarding assets held on the chain is a "deposits" model: it favoured people who locked more value for longer, and so favoured large holders over small users. The extras for ENS, Gitcoin and smart-contract wallets show an attempt to reward users seen as more genuine and to reduce farming.

We could not open the official Scroll claim page or confirm any current claim status. Because phishing sites imitate claim pages long after a window closes, a page offering SCR today should be treated with suspicion.

If you claimed, check the vesting and governance options in the official documentation. Never connect a wallet to a "Scroll airdrop" page found through search adverts, and use a block explorer to check that you are on the right token contract before buying SCR on the market.
