About The Project

Aztec Network is a privacy-focused Ethereum Layer 2 that lets developers build applications with private transactions. Its token sale is described by The Block, and it replaced the usual airdrop.

Earlier versions of this page described a potential airdrop. The project has said it did not allocate one.

Why This Airdrop Matters

The sale used Uniswap Labs' Continuous Clearing Auction, and Aztec was the first project to use it. It closed on 6 December with about 19,476 ETH, roughly $61 million, from 16,741 participants. The starting floor corresponded to a $350 million fully diluted valuation, which Aztec described as a 75% discount to the valuation implied by its equity rounds, and per-user caps of 240 ETH were set to limit whale concentration.

Aztec said half the capital came from its existing community, such as testnet operators and early Aztec Connect users, instead of large institutional allocations. That claim is self-reported. The aim was fair price discovery for people who wanted to help bootstrap the staking set and take part in governance.

The airdrop decision matters. One report noted that Aztec's May 2025 public testnet had attracted many airdrop hunters, but the released token economics showed that no airdrop shares went to them. People who spent months on testnet tasks in the hope of tokens received none, and had to buy in the sale on the same terms as everyone else.

Tokens stay locked until at least 11 February 2026, when participants can vote on a token generation event. We found no source confirming whether the vote or the TGE has happened, so check the official site for the current state.

Participation Guide

If you took part in the auction, follow Aztec's official channels for the TGE vote and the unlock process. If you spent time on the testnet in the hope of an airdrop, the evidence says it will not come. Auction participation put real money at risk, and a locked token cannot be sold until the unlock, so only invest what you can leave untouched.
