Manta Network

Sources disagree on the size. Forklog says total issuance of MANTA would be 1 billion, with 12% allocated to fund two airdrops. KuCoin instead cites 30 million MANTA, 3% of supply, for early users and supporters. The two figures may describe different tranches, but the sources do not say so.

On timing, trading was set to begin on 18 January 2024. TechFlow reports a six-month claim period from 18 January to 18 June 2024, with unclaimed tokens returning to the ecosystem fund. A first distribution called "Into The Blue" took place on 5 January, distributing tokens worth $50 million, with 50,000,000 MANTA unlocking at the token generation event, and a separate 6 million MANTA went to users who took part in the Binance parallel chain auction. A second airdrop was scheduled for the second half of 2024.

Eligibility, per KuCoin, was checked by connecting a Manta Pacific or Polkadot wallet on the Manta Network page. Groups included early Manta Atlantic supporters, active zkApp users, MantaFest participants and holders of various NFTs and zero-knowledge soulbound tokens.

A six-month claim window is long, and it gave scammers six months to run fake claim pages. The distribution in stages, with a second airdrop later, also made it hard for ordinary users to know which round a page referred to.

All sources are secondary, so check Manta's own announcements for exact figures.

Where two networks share a brand, as Pacific and Atlantic do here, it is common for users to be unsure which chain a claim refers to. Always match the chain name, the wallet type and the contract to the official announcement. A claim page that asks for a Polkadot wallet when you expected an Ethereum one should be checked twice before you connect anything.
