About The Project
Berachain is a Layer 1 blockchain with its own "proof of liquidity" design. Its airdrop was announced in early February 2025, ahead of the mainnet launch, and covered a group of testnet users, NFT holders and community members, per BeInCrypto.
Earlier text on this page was a generic description of the project.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Genesis supply was 500 million BERA, and 15.8%, about 79 million tokens, was earmarked for eligible users. The much-quoted $632 million figure was a pre-launch estimate based on perpetual-futures prices near $8 per BERA, and it moved with the market. Pre-launch futures are volatile, so it was never a guaranteed value.
Recipients were testnet users, NFT holders, community builders and Binance BNB holders. The largest share went to holders of Bong Bears NFTs and affiliated projects such as Bond, Boo, Baby, Band and Bit Bears. More than 8.2 million BERA was set aside for users of the public testnets.
The sequence ran in stages. An allocation checker went live, and initial claims opened on 6 February. Users who earned allocations from social engagement and the "Request for Broposal" programme could claim from 10 February. At least 55.75 million tokens were available directly at launch, with the rest tied to the later social and Broposal distributions. Claims could be made with EVM wallets such as MetaMask and OKX Wallet, and Binance handled its own HODLer portion as part of its listing.
Giving the biggest share to NFT holders rather than to ordinary testnet users was controversial: it rewarded people who had bought collectible tokens, which is a form of paying to be eligible, and it left active testnet participants with smaller amounts.
Sources differ slightly on the percentage, 15.75% against 15.8%, but agree on about 79 million tokens.

Participation Guide
The airdrop is over. If you claimed, check the official documentation for staking and vesting terms and be careful with any "BERA recovery" offers. If you are considering using Berachain's applications, read how its liquidity incentive model works first, because rewards there come from emissions that can fall over time. Use the official site and verify the BERA contract through a block explorer.
