The waitlist started on 3 October 2024 and was set to end on 15 May 2026, according to the Bitget listing, so it has now closed. Early users of the bridge, swap or refuel features were promised priority access to potential future airdrops, which is a softer promise than a confirmed allocation.

A CoinLaunch update dated August 2025 notes that no Bungee token had been officially announced, although the initiative might lead to a future airdrop. We found nothing newer, and the GitLab page that appeared in our results is not a reliable indicator of token status.

The project's history belongs in any risk assessment. Socket Protocol suffered a security exploit in January 2024 that cost users about $3.3 million. That does not mean a later product is unsafe, but it shows the category's risk: bridges hold large pools of value and attract attackers, and a single approval you give can be abused if a contract is flawed.

Retroactive programmes like this reward people for using a product before there was a reward, which is the fairest style of airdrop, but only if the team follows through. Without a token announcement, the "Balls" are an expression of intent.

A last note on retroactive programmes is that they depend on the project keeping records. If a team does not publish how it counted usage, you cannot check whether your own activity was recorded.

Keep your own list of the chains and dates you used, because it may help in a dispute and because it shows how much you actually spent in fees, which is worth knowing before you decide how much time to give any future points programme.
