XAI

The Xai Foundation offered 125 million XAI, 5% of supply, to eligible users including owners of certain Xai NFTs and Sentry Node operators. Per-item amounts were 1,307 XAI for each Vanguard NFT, 290 for each Legendary NFT and 1,658 for each Sentry Node key.

The Binance Launchpool, the 43rd, let users stake BNB, FDUSD and TUSD from 5 January 2024 for four days and shared 75 million XAI, 3% of supply. Binance listed XAI on 9 January 2024 at 10:00 UTC with the Seed Tag.

A 3 January announcement said claims were not live yet, and the project later warned about fake claim contracts, pointing to the official address in its 9 January post. Reports of the price differ: Decrypt said XAI debuted just under $0.68, while ForkLog described a drop of roughly 30%, from $0.77 to $0.54.

Counting 75 million Launchpool tokens plus 125 million airdropped tokens, about 8% of supply reached users in the first week, which creates early selling pressure.

The reward per NFT or node depended on holding specific items, so this was closer to a holder dividend than a reward for playing.

Node-based airdrops raise a question of fairness, since Sentry Node keys were purchased by people with enough capital to buy them. Rewarding operators at a fixed rate per key makes the payout predictable, but it concentrates the supply in the hands of the largest buyers and leaves ordinary players with a small share of the total.
