About The Project
Shrapnel is a first-person shooter built on Avalanche by Neon Machine. Coverage comes from Decrypt's report on a marketplace and 80,000 SHRAP event, Blockchain Gamer and The Block.
Earlier text on this page implied a token airdrop, which none of the sources describe.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Sources disagree on the token launch date. BingX says SHRAP was first generated on 29 April 2023 in a token genesis event on the Avalanche C-Chain, while a CoinDesk listing gives 4 April 2023. One source describes SHRAP as an ERC-20 created on the C-Chain and brought into the Shrapnel subnet for the in-game economy.
Players earn SHRAP as a reward in early-access competitions, and it is used to publish in-game content, buy user-made skins and vote in community polls. Decrypt reported that Neon Machine revised the unlock schedule to spread allocations over a longer time for the team, advisors, seed and strategic holders.
The airdrops that are documented are NFT drops. Blockchain Gamer says collaborations with communities including NeoTokyo, Superverse, BoDoggos, Alchemy and Avalanche would be airdropped to the right NFT holders as skins, not as SHRAP tokens.
No source gave eligibility rules, allocation sizes or claim steps for a SHRAP airdrop.
A longer unlock schedule lowers near-term selling pressure, but it also means locked tokens will keep coming to market.
