About The Project
Treasure DAO was a gaming ecosystem built around the MAGIC token on Arbitrum. The history comes from The Defiant's restructuring report, Delphi Digital and Nansen research.
Earlier text on this page implied a MAGIC airdrop, which no source describes.
Why This Airdrop Matters
Treasure was one of the largest recipients of Arbitrum's ARB distribution in 2023 and airdropped eight million ARB, worth well over $10 million, to Treasure users. Arbitrum's wider programme sent $120 million of ARB to about 60 DAOs.
The project began as the Loot Project on Ethereum in August 2021 and moved to Arbitrum in October 2021 because of gas costs. In December 2024 it left Arbitrum for ZKsync, which prompted accusations of "grant-hopping".
In April 2025 Treasure said it would shut its game publishing operations and its Layer 2 chain as part of a restructuring. A TradingView post says the 30 May shutdown of Treasure Chain redirected 10 million MAGIC, earlier allocated to EigenLayer staking, to the treasury, which is a weaker source.
I found no source about a MAGIC airdrop, its eligibility or its amounts.
The pattern here, a project that took grants and then moved chains, is a reminder to check where an ecosystem stands before relying on rewards.
The restructuring is a useful case study in how fragile gaming ecosystems can be. A project that depends on grants and a single chain can lose both when incentives end or when it moves, and users holding its token carry that risk. Check the team's recent announcements before treating an old token as an active project.
