What is a crypto airdrop?

An airdrop is a free distribution of tokens by a crypto project to a group of wallets. Projects do it to reward early users, build a community or spread ownership of a new token across many people.

Most airdrops reward actions rather than luck. The campaigns listed here describe what you need to do, and each listing links to the official pages so you can check the tasks yourself. We do not guarantee that any airdrop will pay out.

Types of airdrops

Campaigns reward different kinds of activity. These are the main types.

  • Retroactive: rewards for using a product before a snapshot date, often without being told in advance.
  • Testnet: rewards for testing a network before it launches.
  • Holder: rewards for holding a token or NFT on a certain date.
  • Task based: rewards for completing social or product tasks.
  • Points programs: users earn points for activity that later convert into tokens.

How airdrops work

Most campaigns follow the same four steps.

  1. A project sets the criteria for who qualifies.
  2. It takes a snapshot of wallet activity on a set date.
  3. Wallets that meet the criteria are listed as eligible.
  4. Eligible wallets claim tokens in a claim window. Unclaimed tokens may expire.

How to qualify

Use the product the project builds, such as a wallet, a swap or a bridge, and do it regularly from a real wallet. Projects filter out wallets that look automated or that are linked to many accounts, so one genuine wallet beats many fake ones.

Is airdrop farming worth it?

Sometimes. Rewards vary widely and many pay little or nothing. Count your time and your network fees as costs, and only spend what you accept as lost.

Stay safe

Airdrops attract scammers, so keep these rules in mind every time.

  • Never share your seed phrase.
  • A real airdrop never asks you to pay to claim.
  • Use a separate wallet for airdrop activity.
  • Check the claim page against the official site of the project.
  • Review the token approval request before you sign.

If a campaign looks wrong, check the scam alerts before you connect a wallet.

Taxes

Many countries treat received tokens as income when you receive them. Rules differ, so check your local rules or ask an accountant.

How to use this page

The table lists the airdrops published here. You can filter it, open any row for the full instructions and vote on how worthwhile you found it. The steps below explain each part.

Reading the table

Each row is one airdrop. These are the columns, from left to right.

  • # is the row number on the current page.
  • Project shows the name and ticker. Click it to open the airdrop page with the tasks and official links.
  • Status is Active, Upcoming or Ended.
  • Published is the date we added the listing.
  • Launchpad/Ecosystem names the platform running the campaign or the network it belongs to.
  • Industry is the sector, such as DeFi, Gaming or AI.
  • Votes shows the total in bold, with upvotes in green and downvotes in red underneath.
  • Action holds the Vote button.

Searching and filtering

Type a project name, ticker or network in the search box to find a specific airdrop. The dropdowns narrow the list and can be combined. Press Reset Filters to clear everything.

These are the filters available.

  • Industry, Chain, Ecosystem and Launchpad narrow the list by sector, network and platform.
  • Status shows only Active, Upcoming or Ended airdrops.
  • Recently Updated shows listings added in the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
  • Investment separates VC backed projects from community projects.
  • Year limits the list to a publication year.

The three tabs

The tabs above the table change what the list shows.

  • Recently Added is the main list, newest first.
  • Top Rated orders airdrops by reader votes.
  • Scam lists airdrops flagged as scams or high risk, with the reason.

How voting works

Voting takes about a minute and helps other readers judge a campaign.

  1. Press Vote on a row, or on the airdrop page.
  2. Enter your name and email address.
  3. Choose Upvote if the airdrop was worthwhile, or Downvote if it was not.
  4. Press Submit Vote.
  5. Open our email and click the confirmation link.

A vote counts only after the email is confirmed. Each email address and connection can vote once per airdrop. Votes are opinions from readers, so they never replace your own checks.

Frequently asked questions

What is a snapshot?

The date when a project records which wallets qualify. Actions after that date usually do not count.

How do I check if I am eligible?

Use the official checker of the project with your public wallet address. Never enter a seed phrase.

Can I lose money on an airdrop?

Yes, through network fees, bridging costs and scams.

How do I find airdrops before they are announced?

Look at products that are popular and have no token yet, and follow their official channels.

Why did I not qualify?

The project may have filtered your wallet or set a stricter rule than you expected.

Do I pay tax on airdrops?

Often yes. Check your local rules.

How do I vote on an airdrop?

Press Vote, enter your name and email, choose upvote or downvote and submit. The vote counts after you click the confirmation link we email you.

What do the green and red numbers in the Votes column mean?

Green is upvotes and red is downvotes. The bold number above them is the total.
